SECTION MODEL (Scale 1:10)

Using the template I had drawn up before, I used it to create the base of my model on cardboard...

...and chose a section cut to split my model respectively,

Inspired by Jorn Utzon's Can Lis's moon crescent light access,

I decided to take my own creative liberties...

and make the light access in this model shaped like a sun...

Unfortunately, cardboard proved to be a difficult material to carve and shape this sun iconography without the techniques of scoring so some compromise had to be made.

I began forming the section model and the space

then later intensifying the model by adding an extra storey to explore the space circulation within the interior

Details were added such as a railing to further communicate the second storey

and stairs were used to make logical sense of how a person may traverse the space.

The human figures could appropriately mount the stairs on the model which was helpful in examining the interior of the space.
